Simple facts about Hypnotherapy - from a professional's view -
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind where you are mentally and physically relaxed. The rational mind is bypassed and we get to communicate with the subconscious mind in order to heal, uncover beliefs or/and reprogram the mind.
The subconscious mind is where we store all our beliefs since childhood or the memories that we have repressed as children as a way to survive. If somethings happened when we were children that we were not able to cope with, and we had no guidance to know how to process those emotions. They will be sent to the subconscious by repressing them as a way to survive (to keep going).
Hypnotherapy is used by the professional to assist the client in his/her healing. The client and the professional have an agreement on what we need to work on. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The client basically follows instructions from the therapist to get to his/her own level of hypnosis. There are light, medium and deep levels. Without the client’s consent and willingness to help him/her-self, hypnotherapy will not work.
The best way hypnotherapy works is with clients who are willing to heal, trust the therapist, are intelligent and open minded. (Some people come with some subconscious resistance and that is my job to find out and work on the blockage before doing the therapy).
When you are in the hypnotic state your senses get heighten, your body will think is sleeping even though your mind is awake.
With hypnotherapy you get to have an internal travel through your subconscious mind allowing you to know yourself better. Everything you experience while in hypnosis serves you for healing, growth and/or self-knowledge.
The least results you will get is getting to a nice physical/mental/emotional relaxation. Usually the most relaxed you have ever been (that’s what most of my clients have said).
With hypnotherapy we can do regression to childhood events to help the client heal and to let go. After letting go of childhood emotional baggage, clients will be able to have a better and healthier life as they will learn new tools to cope with present life challenges.

Hypnosis consists on guiding the client to a natural state of mind which could be in between Alpha, Theta or Delta brainwaves.
How does it work?
First of all, the client wants to get better. This opens the door for real healing.
Then, with specific techniques and the experience of the therapist, he/she assists the client to get to one of these states of the mind depending on the person and the session, each session is different. The hypnotherapist is also trained to know how to help the person to deal with the emotions that may come out throughout the session.
It works because we bypass the critical mind, the rational mind that is constantly judging everything and is full of conditioned information. When we bypass this critical mind, we can access deep and intuitive information, an intelligence beyond “rational thinking noise”.
We can access infinite data that you can only find within yourself.
Part of what you find is what is best for you as an individual to heal, what is it that you need to see in order to heal and to let go. All of it depends on the level of awareness the individual is.
